The Stationary Accident

So I'm sitting at a stop light today in Niagara Falls at the T-intersection of the BLVD and 77th ave. There's a big ole van behind me stopped as well. Since it's just a little side street the light stays red our way for quite awhile. The van had followed me to our current position all the way from the time I left Rite-Aid on Buffalo Ave, a distance of about 5 blocks or so.

So I'm sitting there, waiting for the light to change, jamming to some tunes, minding my own business. All of a sudden my car lurches forward. What the hell? The asshole behind me just ran into me. I look up at the light thinking maybe I spaced out and it turned green and he was giving me a nudge to get going (that's why we have horns though) but no, light is still red. I look in my mirror at the guy and he's got his hands all up in the air. I throw it in park and I see him rolling down his window, so I do the same. I lean out and he says something and starts to get out so I get out too. At this moment, I'm kinda pissed off, borderline raging. But then the guy was all like "I'm sorry are you ok?" and we check out the bumper. Thankfully there's no damage. No second lisence plate imprint to match the one already there, no patches of missing paint or cracks. So I'm like, nothings wrong, he apologizes again and we go our seperate ways.

But come on. How the fuck do I get run into by a van who was already stopped behind me for at least a minute and a half? I swear to god only the most bogus shit happens to me.

Movie Review: Spy Game

CIA operative Nathan Muir (Redford) is on the brink of retirement when he finds out that his protege Tom Bishop (Pitt) has been arrested in China for espionage. No stranger to the machinations of the CIA's top echelon, Muir hones all his skills and irreverent manner in order to find a way to free Bishop. As he embarks on his mission to free Bishop, Muir recalls how he recruited and trained the young rookie, at that time a sergeant in Vietnam, their turbulent times together as operatives and the woman who threatened their friendship.

This is one of my first film experiences with Robert Redford. A quick glance at his filmography on IMDB shows me most of his films were in the 60's and 70's, and since I rarely watch old movies, the fact I hadnt seen him until now shouldn't be a shock. One thing that was always in the back of my head though was "God this guy looks and awful lot like Dick Vermeil, when is he going to burst into tears?"

That said, he played a good role and the movie was pretty sweet. The plot was primarily driven via the use of flashbacks with snippets of present day accounts woven in to tie everything together.

Like its title suggests, its a movie about espionage, the CIA and all that cloak and dagger stuff. I happen to like spy-type movies (The Bourne series, James Bond, etc etc) and this film lived up to my expectations of what a spy thriller film should deliver. Didn't realize that Redford was more the main character than Pitt but the two complimented each other nicely.

Overall I would give this movie 3 cams out of 4 and would reccommend it to anyone who hasnt seen it.

Off the Schnide

So our hockey team finally won a game. We're now 1-2. I have 2 goals. We actually have more than 5 people on the team now, big help.

Thats about it. Lame shit, nothing contreversial to discuss. Working on the mix, havent touched the story, gah. I hurt.
